What a great day!!

On September 4th,eleven university students visited our school for “Volunteering English Teaching Project.” They are all English-major students from Kanda University of International Studies in Chiba Prefecture. All English classes from Grade 1 to Grade 6 were taught by Kanda university students on that day.

Grade 1 and 2 students learned food vocabulary including Fukushima-products, such as peaches and cherries, through Obento-box activity.

Grade 3 and 4 students learned how Fukushima-peach trees grow from the seed to the fruit. Everyone enjoyed folding origami paper to make a peach fruit.

Grade 5 learned how to interview. Peers tried to interact each other to ask his/her favorite food and animal.

Grade 6 learned how to guide the way to the destinations in English. Kanda student-teachers put a huge map in front of us and showed us the names of the buildings and how to get to the destination on the map. It was a lot of fun to walk on the map as if it were a little town.

Hiroto Elementary students were very surprised that all Kanda university students spoke English very well and the class was all taught in English.  

We spent all day studying English, having lunch and playing together with them. We Hiroto students will never forget that day!!

We thank all Kanda student-teachers for coming and teaching us English.
